Pastor & Author Dan Kimball recently said on his Facebook page, "a teacher told me:"I wish parents would quit putting their teens in Christian schools. We need them in public schools to influence students." Thoughts!?!
I completly agree! In high school you have one of the best chances to influence the most amount of people. Teenagers constantly told who to be by those around them. They are told to go to partys, to get into to sexual relationships, to be "cool" ect... The blind are leading the blind. The only hope the teenagers have is for godly christ-centered teenagers to influence them. This is where segregating christians and non-christians by sending christians to christian schools is NOT helping.
Agreed. As a matter of fact, I believe that all christian schools should be left as a thing of the past. The parent needs to teach the kids godly values and things from scripture. If there is such an issue with the public school for the parent, they have the option of home schooling. We need those kids in the school to be witnessing, even when they are young and don't know as much yet. That being said, the parent should be actually teaching their kids, not just sending their kids to awana, youth group, church etc. so that it can be taught for them. Those things can certainly help. If not for church, youth group and other events, me being in an opposed, not christian family I wouldn't have learned a lot and wouldn't be where I am at today. But to those where they have been blessed with godly, humble parents, I totally think they should be in the public schools. not in some ridiculous bubble that protects them from the world and it's ideas.
