Biography:
Gerald McCaffrey is associate pastor of Café Church, (www.cafechurchkingston.com) in downtown Kingston, Ontario. Gerald came to Christ at 19 years of age, after a camping experience. He soon after began running away from God. At 27, having a successful career and wild social life Gerald should have been happy. But he wasn't. Fears kept him from really living. Personal choices kept him from really loving. And he knew there was something missing in his life. After a "chance" meeting with an old friend, Gerald agreed to return to summer camp to help out for a week. There he recommitted his life to Christ, and his real living began. Gerald left his career to return to his home town to start a youth ministry for inner city kids, called the Dirty Sole Society at Next Free Methodist Church. After 6 years he was invited to help plant another church called Rustle. Two years later he was asked to help pastor Café Church. In his 10 year journey, Gerald, through Christ's love, was able to face the demons of his past, break free of self destructive patterns, and learn to share God's love for the lost. Gerald recently lost 108 lbs, taking away one of the last bastions of destruction that plagued his life. Gerald now shares God's love with children & youth through his story of grace. Gerald has a Child & Youth Worker Diploma and has worked in psychiatry, group homes, and school boards as well as his work in churches. Gerald is also a magician and member of Toastmasters International. Gerald runs SpeaksWell, an executive speech coaching business.
