Biography:
Karen Van Riesen is a professional life coach who is passionate about assisting people transition to a greater level of self-esteem and joy of life in all areas of their lives. She has had clients in Canada and overseas.
 
Karen has a BA in Leadership and Ministry, is a member of the International Coach Federation and has level 2 certification using Leading From Your Strengths assessment tool, which she uses as a foundation for her coaching practice.  
 
Karen and her husband have five adult children.  She has homeschooled and also served as Principal in a private Christian school. Her love for teaching children has led her ministry to use LFYS in unique ways with children, parents and families.

In 2001, Karen and her husband transitioned overseas to Perth, Western Australia to work with Youth With A Mission.  She worked briefly in Hyderabad, India and spent three months in Uganda as a Primary Health Care worker.   She also served for three years as Registrar and Immigration liaison for YWAM Perth.
 
Before becoming a professional coach, she worked in the non-profit sector, specializing in volunteer development for an organization that ministered to the homeless population. She continues to minister to the homeless population on a part time basis as a Client Services Worker for the Salvation Army.
 
Karen likes to bike, hike and generally be outdoors. She has a passion for wooden boats and being near the water.
