The school opened it doors for the first time in September, 1976. For the first number of years it operated in a number of church facilities in the Cambridge and Kitchener-Waterloo areas. The move to the present facilities occurred in 1979. Considerable expansion and renovation took place in 2002. Woodland currently serves approximately 210 students in Grades nine to twelve.
