Halifax band The Contact have released their second CD, “Canvas Tears”. They assembled a remarkable team for the album; Grammy award winning producer, Quinlan, and mixing by Chuck Zwicky (Prince, Chantel Kreviazuk). The band have been stirring up attention after their 2007 tour of 14 US states and their nomination at the 2008 ECMA for Rock Recording of the Year. In 2009 The Contact’s song “Black Sea” climbed up to number 15 on the charts for the Christian Rock US National Airplay. The Contact desires their music to be used by God to minister to peoples needs; to bring people to the cross and to help disciple and encourage followers of Christ. Along with many inspirational scriptures from God’s Word that have been used to guide The Contact’s ministry, one in particular has helped the band in it’s purpose to reach the world. “And when the evil spirit from God was upon Saul, David took a lyre and played it; so Saul was refreshed and became well, and the evil spirit left him.” 1 Samuel 16:23 (Amplified Bible). The Contact desires to serve Christ and to allow Him to do what He pleases with the ministry. The band is always looking for opportunities to come alongside churches and be a benefit to the youth and congregation; by adding value and encouragement to any form of church function or outreach.
